Josephat is a research assistant working in the STI, Knowledge and Society programme (STIKS). He also provides ongoing support in data analytics for AfricaLics (African Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems) based at ACTS. Prior to joining ACTS, Josephat worked with Altai Consulting analyzing different literature reviews to inform its Joint Analysis of Conflict and Stability (JACS) in Somalia. He was also in charge of data management systems for Conflict Security and Stability Fund (CSSF) project.

Josephat holds a Master’s degree in Economics (policy management), Bachelor of Economics and Statistics from Kenyatta University. He also holds a certificate in public management from YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa. His thematic focuses include: econometrics, policy, health economics, macro and micro economics and strong interest in learning innovation and development with focus on renewable energy. Josephat has vast experience that incorporate qualitative and quantitative research. He has been involved in a large number of randomized controlled trials focusing on applying behavioral sciences with Busara Center for Behavioral Economics and Innovations for Poverty Action. As a consultant, he has been involved in analyzing trends in STI, economic growth and governance in East and Central Africa and documentation of the status of implementation of vision 2030 flagship projects.
